The performance of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems is highly impacted by clipping distortions caused by non-linear amplifiers. One approach known as Tone Reservation (TR) method is to allocate/use a small number of sub-carriers to generate more suited signals and reduce the impact of these non-linear distortions. By sacrificing 11 out of 256 OFDM tones (4.3%) for tone reservation, over 3 dB of analog PAR reduction can be obtained for a wireless system. In this paper, a novel multiblock tone reservation (MB-TR ) scheme is proposed for the PAPR reduction in OQAM-OFDM systems. The key idea of the MB-TR scheme is to exploit the overlapping structure of the OQAM-OFDM signals and jointly consider the adjacent data blocks to obtain the clipping noise. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can achieve better PAPR reduction performance than the conventional tone reservation scheme with the same preset PRT set.
